Elegant and refined.
Unlike Miscanthus 'Cosmopolitan' and Miscanthus 'Cabaret', the two extra-large Miscanthus with opulent foliage, Miscanthus sinensis 'Variegatus' has an elegant and refined habit.
This plant is a great asset in the garden with its fine 1.5 cm wide leaves, purple-pink flowers that turn silver and variegated cream-white and green foliage.
Its luminosity makes it a good focus plant on the edge of a pond or swimming pool or to contrast with a wall, a trimmed hedge or as a gatekeeper to a shady area. Grows well in containers.
If your landscape garden or terrace is predominantly slate-grey, Miscanthus sinensis 'Variegatus' is made for you!
Grow in the sun or light shade in ordinary soil.
