Description :

Miscanthus sinensis 'Kleine Silberspinne' gained an Award of Garden Merit in 2001 for several reasons:

  • its straight, compact habit,
  • its narrow arching foliage with a white central rib and which is finely coloured at the end of the season,
  • flowers on long, silvery-pink spikelets in late summer and autumn and which turn pale brown in winter,
  • height: less than two metres.

Planting suggestions: architectural or focus plants, for contemporary, natural and cottage gardens. Goes well in a mixed border, on a bank or patio and in pots.

Cultivation: in the sun in ordinary soil. Very hardy. Prune the stalks at the end of winter.
