Pennisetum macrourum spreads through rhizomatous growth and over time will occupy an area of three square metres. It is suitable for large areas or at the back of the garden, or on the edge of a meadow or as an architectural plant in a bed surrounded by a root barrier.

Its tall 130 cm stems bear slender, long, cylindrical inflorescences.

Evergreen foliage. Cultivation: in the sun in ordinary soil.

Hardiness: -15 °C

Minimum planting distance: 90 cm.
