Description :

Carpathian Snow

The species is native to European mountains (Pyrenees, south-eastern Alps, Carpathians, Balkan Peninsula), but the Anthemis carpatica 'Karpatenschnee' variety was introduced into the catalogue by the German nursery Jelitto Perennial Seeds in 1990.

Anthemis carpatica 'Karpatenschnee’ forms a carpet of compact, deeply-indented grey-green leaves which are tipped in late spring with little white daisy flowers with golden centres. Deadhead to prolong flowering into summer. Height with the flowers: 15 cm.

In the garden, this plant will fully express its cascading character and prolific flowering in a raised bed or rockery.

For gravel gardens, troughs, rockeries and edging in a sunny bed.

Grow in the sun in ordinary soil, which can be poor and dry. Anthemis carpatica is a perennial with a woody base that does not like too much damp in winter. A fine gravel mulch around the plant's collet will protect it from excessive damp.
