Fabulous, an umbellifer!
Seseli elatum ssp osseum is native to the mountainous areas of Central Europe (rocky steppes, dry forest edges, often on limestone mother rock) and has bluish foliage similar to fennel. The plant grows in an elegant tuft of 80 cm in height and flowers in June-July with white umbels, that are reddish before they open fully.
We like to plant this pretty umbellifer in full sun, in a rock or gravel garden in poor, stony soil.
It goes very well with Anthemis tinctoria as its airy flowers provide a striking contrast with the heavier habit of the heavier flower heads of the yellow anthemis. Seseli osseum may re-seed. That's lucky!
