Delicate white flowers with hints of lilac pink
Salvia microphylla (*) is a semi-evergreen perennial shrub with a delightful and delightfully-long flowering period lasting several months. It is native to the United States (Arizona) and Mexico and can reach up to 1.5 metres in height.
It is easy to grow and can withstand summer drought and comes in several colours and as many cultivars. They all like the sun, heat and well-drained soil, especially in winter! Hardiness: - 10°C
We are honoured to present you this exceptional cultivar with the most delicate flowers: Salvia microphylla 'Trebah Lilac White?!
A coat of pure white with a veil of lilac pink. Sublime!
We will plant it in a special place in the garden, together with silver-leaved varieties such as artemisia, to decorate its base, or with the lilac pink umbels of Achillea 'Lilac Beauty', or with the mat-forming Nemesia denticulata.
Grow in the sun in ordinary soil, which is well-drained in winter. Give it a tidy-up trim (prune dried flowers and to give it shape) during the season and then a more radical prune to 30 centimetres in early spring (April).
(*) Salvia microphylla is a member of the Lamiaceae (mint) family and has aromatic foliage with a scent of anise-mint and a hint of spice. Its nectar-producing flowers are formed of a double-lipped corolla.
