Double Spanish poppy
Papaver rupifragum 'Flore Pleno' is an alpine species native to the chalk cliffs of southern Spain (Andalusia). It is
- an adorable perennial poppy with a long, joyous summer flowering season,
- and has softly coloured orange blooms that look as though they are made of tissue paper.
Grow in the sun in a rock garden (gravel garden, scree, troughs, crevices) in light, well-drained, and neutral to alkaline soil. Good resistance to temporary drought.
Maintenance: remove the dead flowers and stems regularly to prolong flowering. Avoid planting in warm, damp spots.
