Like a freesia
Native to grassy uplands of Southern Africa from the Eastern Cape to the south-east of Tanzania Tritonia laxifolia is a delightful cormus perennial with long narrow leaves and delicate salmon-pink flowers borne on short 15 cm high stems.
In the garden we plant it as edging for a sunny border, in a rockery, trough or pot in fertile, light, well-drained, sandy soil.
Be careful to respect its summer dormancy by keeping the plant dry during the summer.
