Agastache pallida x rugosa ‘Globetrotter’

Availability : Available

Description :

Although Agastache 'Globetrotter' was introduced by seed producer Jelitto ® in their 2010 catalogue, it is the result of work by Dutch breeder Brian Kabbes.

The A. pallida x A. rugosa hybrid has unusual flowers for the Agastache genus: lilac pink flowers borne on strong pink-purple bottlebrush spikes.

A vigorous grower, Agastache pallida x rugosa 'Globetrotter' loves the sun and ordinary, fairly poor well-drained soil, slightly acidic to chalky. Staking may be necessary in rich fresh soil.

In the gravel garden we plant it to accompany perennials (Artemisia 'Powis Castle', Echinops, Achillea), and grasses (Helictotrichon, Panicum 'Dallas Blue', Schizachyrium scoparium 'Blue Heaven').

It can be used for superb tub displays. A good cut flower for arrangements. Nectar-producing plant.
