These are my grandmother's columbines !

They are very sturdy, completely hardy and flower in profusion. These columbines reseed easily and will be your lifelong garden companions. That means for ever and ever!

They have been cultivated since the Middle Ages and are a must for a cottage or vicarage garden. Plant at the back of a bed. The foliage can be cut back in June to keep the plants fresh and tidy until the frost arrives.

Flowers in April-May with little white, old rose or burgundy coloured blooms. Height: up to 1 metre.

Grow in ordinary, not too dry soil in the sun or slight shade.
