An indestructible ground cover plant.
Epimedium x rubrum or Red Barrenwort is a multiple award-winning, easy to grow, free-flowering variety, one of the best in the Epimedium genus. It spreads rapidly by rhizomes.
In the spring the heart-shaped foliage is tinged with red, turning red then bronze in the autumn. In March-April Epimedium x rubrum produces unusual cerise and yellow flowers with short spurs.
High fashion with its young green/red foliage.
Beautiful autumnal colouring of the foliage.
Plant Epimedium x rubrum in a shady bed as ground cover under trees or shrubs. Works really well in a border. Resists summer drought.
