Description :

Hummingbird sage or Anise-scented sage

Native to Central America, Salvia guaranitica 'Black and Blue' puts on a beautiful display all summer long until the beginning of autumn. Intense deep blue 5 cm flowers with a black calyx borne on spikes that can reach 1 m in height.

Grow in the sun or partial shade in good, light, garden soil, which is well-drained in winter. Deciduous. Hardiness: - 10°C.

For regions where the winters have a frosty bite a winter mulch is recommended or it is a good idea to take cuttings in the autumn.
