A real favourite.

The common cowslip (Primula veris) is widely found in the countryside, but this orange variety is unusual and beautifully luminous in the spring.

This perennial cowslip forms a vigorous, hardy rosette. From March onwards, the 10-15 cm floral stems appear. Nodding umbels, scented, bright orangey-red.

Grow in partial shade in good, moist, humus-rich and well-drained garden soil.

Plant with Pulmonaria 'Blue Ensign' or Epimedium x warleyense.
