Welcome to the wonderful world of the Podophyllum!
This remarkably hybrid, Podophyllum 'Kaleidoscope' has broad, octagonal, umbrella-shaped leaves with shiny bronze, silver and green markings.
The leaves appear like mushrooms in the spring and are borne on sturdy stems. Hanging claret-red flowers.
This is a woodland plant that appreciates moist, humus-rich soil. We like to place it as a star feature together with Hosta, Rodgersia, Tiarella and Heuchera.
Podophyllum may take time to become established, but it is hardy and long-lived. So, once it is settled, best to leave it alone!
It works well in a pot in a courtyard or shady patio and can give free rein to all its features and quickly become an exceptional display specimen.
