Description :

White mugwort is quite a particular plant.

Plants belonging to the Artemisia genus can be shrubs, perennials, annuals, evergreens or deciduous. In general, they have silvery, aromatic and often deeply indented leaves.

Artemisia lactiflora 'Guizhou' is the odd one out, radically, but quite different from the rest of the family in a very positive way. Indeed!

Winter and spring, it has a nice tuft of purplish green foliage.

Summer and autumn, its black stems hold aloft a profusion of flowers, little creamy white capitula at the end of summer and beginning of autumn to lighten the dark areas of your garden.

Accompanying plants: Aster, Rudbeckia, Vernonia, Veronicastrum, Agastache 'Blue Fortune' ....

Grow in the (morning) sun or partial shade in ordinary, well-drained, fairly moist in the summer. Enjoys heavy damp soils. Hardy

Maintenance: cut back the dried flower stems in the winter.

Synonym: Artemisia kitadakensis 'Guizhou', Artemisia lactiflora purpurea,
