Although this selection was only introduced into the catalogue in 2002 (Gosh, already 12 years ago!) by Charles Olivier (Pennsylvania, USA) we have been surprised at the nursery by the vigour and formidable performance of Heuchera 'Frosted Violet'. Undoubtedly, this must be due to its kinship with Heuchera villosa!
In the spring its leaves emerge purple-pink and mature into plum-violet with dark veins. Long summer flowering with light pink blooms.
And a bonus! A ray of sunshine? The leaf hairs make it look fluorescent.
Grow in good garden soil in the sun (not scorching) or slight shade.
Grows well in pots.
Maintenance: mulch and trim damaged leaves in spring.
Divide every 3-4 years.
