A sunbeam for partial shade.
A little background: discovered by gardener Steve Lesch in the garden of one of his friends in Madison (Wisconsin -USA), Brunnera 'Diane's Gold', was rather nicely named after her. It really was a natural seedling from Brunnera macrophyla.
After five years of trials by Terra Nova Nurseries (Oregon, USA), it is with great pleasure that we are now able to offer it on https://www.brittanyperennials.uk/
It has a stable habit and its foliage stays a beautiful chartreuse yellow through the warm summer months.
And its very lovely spring flowering in small blue stars shining atop the buttery foliage is gorgeous.
In the garden we like to match Brunnera 'Diane's Gold' with all the partial shade bedding favourites. Primula, Helleborus, Pulmonaria, Ajuga, Lamium, Heuchera.
Grows well in pots or large planters. Brunnera 'Diane's Gold' + Carex muskingumensis 'Silberstreif' + Ophiopogon 'Black's Dragon' + Primula 'Blue Sapphire' + Carex siderosticha 'Lemon Zest', all on a bed of grey/white pebbles.
Grow in light shade in humus-rich, well-drained garden soil. Height: 20 to 30 cm.
