Unusual and rare!
Podophyllum 'Spotty Dotty' is a new hybrid produced from Podophyllum peltatum and has incredible foliage in the shape of a hexagonal umbrella, chartreuse green with chocolate marbling.
The garnet-coloured star flowers appear in April-May.
This is quite a botanical curiosity that we like to use as a focus plant in a shady border or in understory to accompany other stars of partial shade (Helleborus, ferns, Brunnera, Heuchera).
It is an easy-to-grow plant that can also be a remarkable specimen in a pot on a shady patio.
Height: 30 - 40 cm.
Grow in partial shade in good, humus-rich, moist, well-drained garden soil, which is neutral to slightly acid.
Very hardy. Avoid exposure to winds and transplanting.
