Intense white illuminates the garden.
The ptarmica species is native to Europe's wet meadows and its most famous cultivar Achillea ptarmica 'The Pearl' is a significant horticultural improvement (!) with elegant double white flowers.
Vigorous, hardy and easy to grow, Achillea ptarmica 'The Pearl' blooms profusely in an avalanche of pure white pompoms from June to late August on a cushion of dark green narrow lanceolate leaves.
In the garden, we plant it on the edge of shady beds or in a mixed border, along with campanula and plants with silver foliage.
Grow in the sun or slight shade in ordinary soil that should not be too dry. It can also grow in a heavier clay soil.
Height: 60 cm. Remove the dead flowers and stems to prolong flowering and cut the plant back at the beginning of winter. A good cut flower for arrangements.
