A small ground cover for a shady, dry spot.
This cranesbill grows into a small clump of shiny, dark green leaves with uninterrupted flowering from June to October. Its small purple trumpet flowers are edged with violet or light pink stripes.
Geranium nodosum 'Clos du Coudray' is an unassuming, hardy and sturdy little ground cover that likes shady and even dry areas under trees, on banks or in light understory.
Goes well with Alchemilla mollis.
Easy to grow in ordinary, humus-rich, light, well-drained soil that is slightly acid to alkaline. Hardiness: -15°C.
Geranium nodosum, commonly known as knotted crane's-bill, is native to woodland in the mountains and hills of southern Europe (Massif Central, Corbieres, Pyrenees, Corsica, central Italy and Serbia).
It is rhizomatous geophyte that grows into a loose clump 30 cm – 50 cm in height, with stems that swell above the knots and palmatifid leaves with three to five slightly indented lobes.
