A small ground cover for a dry rockery
Native to South Africa (cliffs to the north of the town of Graaff-Reinet) Delosperma 'Graaf Reinet' forms a low, dense, compact mat.
It is a good ground cover for dry, sunny spots in the garden and a great ornamental variety for its long flowering period in the summer from June until the first frosts, producing a multitude of little white stars.
Despite its hardiness, it does not like the long, cold, damp stretches of winter.
We like to grow Delosperma 'Graaf Reinet' in a dry rockery. In very damp climates, you need to cover it in winter with a sheet of perspex or simply grow it in pots.
