Availability : Available

Description :

Viola sororia or common blue violet is a species native to the woodlands of eastern North America.

The Viola sororia 'Albiflora' variety has remarkable ornamental qualities for which it gained an Award of Garden Merit in 2002:

  1. it is easy to grow in the sun or light shade in a rockery environment;
  2. free flowering in solitary, pure white, unscented blooms in April-May,
  3. shiny bright evergreen, heart-shaped leaves,
  4. stoloniferous growth and self-seeding which makes it good for ground cover.

In the garden we use it as small ground cover under deciduous shrubs, in shady borders or a moist rockery.
