Synonym: Acaena microphylla 'Copper Carpet'
Acaena microphylla 'Kupferteppich', this compact, creeping perennial differs from other Acaena because of its bronze foliage topped by small spherical inflorescences, followed by bright red achenes in August.
It is less vigorous and is suitable for planting at the edge of steps, in a rockery or paving.
Given the unusual colouring of its foliage we recommend associating it with other plants with warm and colourful foliage, beneath shrubs or grasses with interesting autumn hues (Panicum , Miscanthus 'Purpurescens', Miscanthus 'Ghana') or with heathers.
