Sky-blue umbel flowers in June and July.
Originally from the eastern United States Amsonia tabernaemontana forms a dense tuft rather like a small shrub and produces bunches of cerulean blue tubular flowers from June onwards.
In the autumn its leaves turn to bright shades of yellow and orange.
Amsonia are ideal for high borders mixed with evergreens. They are late developers, so be patient!
