Lovely soft flowers
Geum 'Mai Tai' is a robust hardy perennial, which forms a little clump of foliage from which appear sublime bouquets of semi-double, apricot-pink blooms, which fade to peach.
At the nursery we suggest combining the soft, romantic flowers of Geum 'Mai Tai' with the young fronds of Dryopteris erythrosora and the beautiful coppery foliage of Heucherella 'Sweet Tea'. A perfect combination of hues to soften the hardest of hearts! (*)
All three can be planted in semi-shaded understory in fertile soil that is not too dry in summer. The avens sits nicely at the feet of the fern with the Heucherella providing an all year round display.
Maintenance: remove the dried flowers to encourage new floral buds. The foliage can be cut right back after flowering. Divide every 3-4 years. A good cut flower.
Geum 'Mai Tai' is the result of breeding work by Intrinsic Perennial Gardens (Illinois, USA).
