Geranium 'Dragon Heart' is a new selection from Alan Bremmer (Scotland, UK) and a cross between Geranium psilostemon x Geranium procurrens.
It is easy to grow in well-drained, humus-rich, moist soil and will flourish all summer long producing sumptuous, large 5 cm magenta flowers with black centres.
Its wide, spreading foliage can be attractive as ground cover.
Although Geranium 'Dragon Heart' prefers moisture, it can withstand temporary drought in the summer.
And a touch of heatstroke? Cut back the foliage at the end of July to encourage new growth and a second flowering.
