Availability : Available

Description :

Named after botanist Dr Jonathan Stokes (1755-1831), the Stokesia genus is native to the south-east of the United States and only has one species!

Stokesia laevis 'Blue Star' is something in between a giant daisy and a scabious and offers very attractive flowers (sky blue with white centres) from mid-summer until the autumn as long as you keep dead heading.

For mixed borders. To create a palette of blues and violets try planting it with Campanula 'Sarastro', Echinacea purpurea 'Elton Knight'.

Easy to grow in good, light, well-drained garden soil in the sun or slight shade.
