This species is native to North America and has a dense, short habit and is very free flowering. It is easy to divide after the first growing season.

Aster dumosus are quite simply ideal plants for the edge of a border.

Aster dumosus 'Professor Anton Kippenberg' is a horticultural selection which produces a profusion of lavender blue flowers in September - October.

Height: 30 cm. Grow in the sun or slight shade in ordinary soil, which is not too dry. Very hardy
