We just love this ornamental garlic.
Allium cernuum 'Hidcote' produces flowers in pinkish mauve umbels with blue highlights, in the shape of an upturned champagne cup. Height: 35 cm. Grow in ordinary, even poor, dry soil, but which should be well drained. Hardy.
Very beautiful! You can associate is with silver-grey foliage (Artemisia 'Valerie Finnis'), blue flowers (Lavandula 'Hidcote'), purple foliage (Salvia officinalis 'Purpurescens') or grasses (Stipa tenuifolia). Is great in a rockery or a trough. This plant reseeds easily as long as you do not remove the dried flowers too soon.
