Description :

Roman chamomile, English chamomile

Chamaemelum nobile is native to dry, sandy regions in western Europe and is grown for its medicinal properties. Its long summer flowering, survival in tough growing conditions, use as a ground cover and finely divided, aromatic foliage means that is a simple, but useful plant to have in the garden.

  • Chamaemelum nobile has numerous medicinal properties and is used as herbal remedy for digestive problems and insomnia.
  • In the garden we use it as ground cover in a rock garden or as edging for a perennial border under lavenders, santolina or thyme.
  • Planted in paving cracks it can become an effective and deliciously aromatic carpet.

Grow in the sun (even scorching) in neutral to alkaline, dry and poor, preferably sandy soil.
