An undemanding, easy to grow variety, which works equally well in a bed or a pot!
Native to South Africa, Diascias or twinspur are good plants for a sunny border, rockery or trough. They are easy to grow, but to maintain flowering throughout the summer you do need to plant them in rich, light, porous soil and regularly prune the dried floral stems.
And remember to cut back the clumps at the end of winter. The plant will be all the better for it.
Diascia barberae 'Blackthorn Apricot' forms an attractive tuft with a spreading habit. Continuous flowering from May to September with delicate pink apricot blooms on wiry stems.
Like all the salmon-coloured Diascias, 'Blackthorn Apricot' can be grown in shady locations.
