A cottage garden special
Phloxes are great plants for a traditional English mixed border.
Phlox maculata 'Natascha' is a beautiful recent variety; it grows vigorously, is resistant to rust (the plague of the phlox) and produces incomparable pink and white flowers.
Phlox paniculata and Phlox maculata need an airy location, good garden soil that is sufficiently moist in the summer and sunny exposure. Applying fertilizer twice a month is recommended to promote flowering. Remove the dried flowers and avoid getting the foliage wet.
