Campanula punctata ' Pantaloons'

Availability : Available

Description :

Native to East Asia (Siberia, Japan) Campanula punctata is a hardy, easy to grow perennial. Rhizomatous, it provides nice ground cover.

Campanula punctata 'Pantaloons' is a selection from the famous North American Terra Nova Nurseries (Oregon, USA).

A spectacular plant with double old rose blooms, delicately scented over a long summer flowering period.

We like to combine this star plant in a generous mixed border with other pink purple-flowering perennials (Echinacea purpurea 'Magnus Superior', Stachys monieri 'Hummelo', Sanguisorba hakusanensis, Phlox paniculata 'Bright Eyes', Phlox carolina 'Bill Balker') or a grass such as Eragrostis trichodes.

If you are after a botanical curiosity, we suggest a duo with the charming Campanula punctata 'Wedding Bells' for its unusual double white flowers.

Grow in good garden soil that is not too dry in summer, in the sun (Northern France) or in light shade (South of France).

Maintenance: mulch with leaf mould at the beginning of spring. Deadhead regularly to prolong flowering.
