Vigorous and easy to grow.
The Dwarf Chinese astilbe has vigorous growth and produces a summer flowering of carmine pink plumes, which makes it a superb ornamental edging plant for shady borders.
In the garden, we like to associate Astilbe chinensis var. pumila with ericaceous border plants, under hydrangeas, rhododendrons or Japanese azaleas.
