Clean and tidy
This grass is native to Central Europe and the Caucasus and forms a small clump with bluish evergreen foliage. Its inflorescences appear at the beginning of the summer, creamy white to begin with and then turning mauve as they mature.
Sesleria heufleriana is closely related to Sesleria caerulea and has the same ornamental qualities: it's easy to grow, has clean and tidy grey-blue foliage and is long-lived.
It will flourish at the edge of a semi-shaded border in good garden soil together with Brunnera, Hosta, Pulmonaria, Tolmiae, Liriope 'Pee Dee Gold Ingot', Campanula 'Dickson's Gold'.
Grow in sunlight or in partial shade in ordinary soil. Resists drought. Hardiness: - 25°C !
