Description :

Blue grama grass is simple and effective with a touch of whimsy.

Native to the arid plains of the southern United States, Bouteloua gracilis produces simple clumps of light grass, 50 cm in height.

Easy to grow, it is effective in borders, pots and even in dense planting as a lawn replacement in dry areas. In these environments it forms a low, dense, groundcover carpet with no need to mow and original flowering!

From July onwards, its inflorescences give a touch of whimsy, as its horizontal floral spikes sway in the slightest breeze.

Allergic to box wood? Well, try Bouteloua gracilis (!) in a dry, sunny border with a planting distance of 25 cm.

Grow in the sun in ordinary soil, which can be poor and dry.

Spontaneous re-seeding is easy to manage. Evergreen in mild climates, deciduous in cold climates.
