Eastern feathergrass is native to Japan, China and Korea and forms a clump of graceful leaves with aerial inflorescences 1.50 m high appearing from June to September.
Grow in the sun or light shade in good garden soil.
Our advice: combine Stipa extremorientalis in a shady bed with other tall-stemmed varieties, such as: Digitalis pupurea, Veronicastrum, Vernonia or plant en masse in an understory setting.
