Wood Small-reed or bushgrass
A native north European grass, Calamagrostis epigejos colonises through vigorous rhizomes which make it suited to natural gardens planted together with autumn-flowering perennials (Aster, Chrysanthemum).
It has very luminous brown inflorescences, which become silvery.
Height: 80 to 120 cm. Planting distance: 80 cm. Grow in the sun or light shade in ordinary soil. Enjoys heavy damp soils.
