Baptisia 'Twilite Prairieblues' is a hybrid of B. australis x B. sphaerocarpa. From late spring it produces an abundant flowering of spikes bearing violet purple flowers, creamy yellow at their base.
A hardy, vigorous grower which withstands drought and is long-lived, this variety has all the qualities of the Baptisia genus.
In the garden we grow it in the sun, in ordinary soil, which is well-drained in winter. Over the years, this plant forms a powerful and deep root system which does not like to be moved.
