Attack from Outer Space!!
Bidi-bidi or New Zealand burr has weird ball-like seed-heads.
It produces hundreds of scary, white UFOs with pointy red hairs.
It is stunning as an edging plant (low wall, paving, staircase) or as an effective ground cover plant under grasses or rose bushes. Fun in association with Geranium nigra. It keeps its bright bottle-green mossy appearance even during the hottest summer moments. No need for watering.
Height: 15 cm. Very hardy. Acaena novae-zelandiae can grow in the sun or in light shade. Ordinary soil.
