A recent variety (2008) from the English nursery Hardy's Cottage Garden Plants, Gaura lindheimeri 'Rosy Jane' is an attractive selection with its compact habit and cheerful, long summer flowering of two colour blooms: white petals with cherry-pink edges.
Grow in the sun in fertile, light, well-drained soil that is not too dry in the summer. Avoid heavy, damp, clay soils.
For a colourful, refined border plant Gaura lindheimeri 'Rosy Jane' with Verbena, Penstemon, Scabiosa. Grows well in pots.
Prune after flowering to tidy. Only cut back the clumps at the end of winter.
