Description:

A superb hardy and vigorous perennial cultivar.

Three good reasons to plant it:

  1. Its foliage forms a nice carpet of finely-chiselled aromatic leaves throughout the year.
  2. It will keep flowering throughout the summer as long as you remember to deadhead the flowers.
  3. Its large 10 cm pink-red umbels are held on strong stems.

And a fourth! Its large pink-red umbels contrast well with spikey flowers such as Crocosmia or Persicaria or the golden blooms of Coreopis.

It works well when planted by Panicum virgatum 'Shenandoah' or Panicum 'Haense Herms'

For borders or the middle of perennial beds.

Cultivation: in the sun in ordinary, well-drained soil. Water if necessary in the summer to promote flowering. Avoid heavy, clay soils which are wet in winter.

Maintenance: prune in the autumn to keep a compact habit. Divide every four years in the spring.

Height of the umbels: 60 to -75 cm. Height of the foliage: 5 cm
