A rarely available miniature Polygonatum or Solomon's Seal!
Native to the high woodlands of the eastern Himalayas, Polygonatum hookeri is a slow-growing, rhizomatous perennial.
Its single mauve-pink flowers appear in spring and bloom until early summer. The flowers appear before the foliage.
This Lilliputian plant has a very short growing cycle. We like to display this remarkable alpine plant in pride of place to get the most out of it and not to forget it!
This delightful little gem needs to be grown in an alpine rockery in a semi-shaded spot on a damp, but well drained bed of peat. Neutral to alkaline soil.
It can also be grown in pots or troughs, in an alpine greenhouse in a mixture of equal parts peat, loamy earth and drainage elements (pozzolan 5 mm).
