Phyteuma scheuchzeri

Availability : Available

Description :

This little rarity is not offered widely enough.

Phyteuma scheuchzeri is a cousin of the campanula genus, originally from Europe's mountains (Alps, Apennines, Balkans) and is an excellent rock garden plant.

It forms a low clump of dark green, glossy, narrow, lance-shaped, finely serrated leaves.

Flowering starts right at the beginning of the summer with dark-blue globular flowers surrounded by bracts.

Phyteuma scheuchzeri's mountainous background tells us about its preferred growing conditions. As an alpine plant, it prefers the sun and well-drained, rich, moist soil.
