A nice, green, well-rounded cushion all year round.
Native to alpine meadows, Dianthus alpinus forms a small cushion, 10 cm wide. Thick, shiny, fleshy leaves. Continuous flowering from May onwards.
This alpine pink likes poor, well-drained soil and a sunny exposure. A gravel mulch around the base of the plant will protect it from too much damp in the winter.
It is a great addition to a rockery garden or in pots as it behaves well in either!
